BANKS POWER 26005 BOOST TUBE UPGRADE KIT

Upgrade the factory boost tube on your GM 6.6L Duramax L5P with the Banks Power 26005 Boost Tube Upgrade Kit from Mullet Diesel Performance. Banks has developed oversized charge air cooler pipes and billet adapters. This results in less boost pressure loss from the turbo to the intake manifold. The improved airflow, which ranges from 26-45%, allows the turbo to spool faster and maintain boost pressure with minimal wasted energy and heat. Banks Boost-Tubes enable the engine, particularly the turbo, to operate with less effort in compressing intake air. This maximizes horsepower delivery, enhances throttle response, and reduces engine stress. Despite the limited space in the L5P engine, Banks engineers managed to maintain a full 3.5" diameter for both the hot and cold side of our boost tubes. In comparison, our boost tubes are significantly larger than the stock intercooler piping. The combination of large smooth mandrel bends and steel construction places the Banks Boost-Tubes in a class of their own in terms of performance and durability. GM made various changes to components in the engine bay for the L5P, including a new coupler system on the cold side. Using CFD simulations, Banks engineers designed billet couplers with a perfect taper and unique double parabolic shape to optimize airflow and reduce restriction. The shape and curvature of these couplers are crucial for maintaining pressure efficiency throughout the intercooler system. In contrast, GM opted for a nearly full rubber hose design on the cold side, which may simplify production but sacrifices some performance.
